Your guide to making, saving, and spending money in your 20’s for a healthy, wealthy, and happy life.
Visit SiteBridget Casey, founder and CEO of Money After Graduation, approached me with a goal to bring a clean, modern, and fresh look to her website. Not only did this include creating a brand new identity, but also a complete website redesign. There were three key areas that she wanted me to focus on: website content, eCourses, and her YouTube channel. I set out to transform Money After Graduation from just a “blog” to something that looks and feels like an incorporated entity.
I decided to design a type-based logo for Money After Graduation—with the digital coin as its core symbol. Green and yellow were chosen as two primary colours, while a neutral grey was selected as the secondary colour to provide the right contrast and balance.
Before redesigning the website, it was also important to understand certain constraints. For example, the previous design of the website was based on a WordPress theme. Since Bridget wanted to keep using WordPress for foreseeable future, the redesign had to utilize its theming mechanism. I started by creating hi-fidelity HTML mockups of what the new Money After Graduation could look like, and then relied a commercial theme to bring that design to life—with heavy customizations. Modifying a pre-built theme helped speed up the development process. Since writing was (and is) the key and central focus for Money After Graduation, a white background for content was a must for easier readability.
Besides the main website redesign, I also conceptualized, designed and developed a dedicated landing page for Money After Graduation’s keystone eCourse: Six Figure Stock Portfolio. The course offering, pricing, and reviews were strongly emphasized throughout the landing page.
The brand refresh and website redesign helped increase awareness and recognition for Money After Graduation across web and in print.
Increased readership
Brand recognition & awareness
Increased traffic to eCourse
More importantly, the redesigned home page led to increased sign-ups for mailing lists, and significant redirects to Six Figure Stock Portfolio eCourse.
